Montreal radio station CHOQ.ca, is happy to announce the launch of the 60 Second Radio international contest. Open to citizens from around the world, the60 Second Radio contest, has chosen as the theme of its 1st edition, the concept ofLiberty!« Radio is a powerful communication media and a unique way to transcribe our collective imagination. Liberty lies dormant within all of us, wherever we are. What we hope to hear, are your heartbeats,says Boris Chassagne, radio announcer and contest coordinator. This contest wishes to do with radio, what others have done with cinema. We know that radio is the theatre of the imagination, your60 Second Radiowill become part of a feature film!».
Fiction, portraits, reports, collages, interviews, declarations, radio art, environmental works, creative works, burlesque elements, humorous clips, all categories are accepted! So, have a conversation with your grandmother, a political prisoner, send a clip recorded from your parachute, archive the sound of Liberty ... Sing a song with your prime minister? Be creative, work on it, do some nice editing and remember to cherish sound quality!Then send it in! Use your smartphone, a portable recorder, a professional studio. Just do it! This contest is open to everyone!

This year, the UQAM Office of International Relations(Québec University in Montréal), the Canadian Commission for UNESCOand Le Journal International, will be Choq.ca’s principal partners and sponsors. Moreover, universities from around the globe are also joining hands to make this contest an immense success. The best works will be aired on CHOQ.ca and throughout the world, and could also be distributed around the globe by canadian and international community and campus radio stations.

An international jury will be giving out four (4) prizes: 1st Prize:1000$ in cash CAD / 2nd Prize:Zoom H4N professional recorder and external mic / 3rd Prize:Canon digital camera / Special Prize Under 18 category: 200$ in cash CAD
